Staying at the Wellington Hotel in New York
I got to stay in this lovely hotel for a week from the 2nd to the 10th of January. We didn't get to see the hotel in all it's spender though as they were doing work to their lobby and the front of the hotel.
As there was 3 of us, we had booked a bedroom suite and it did not disappointment. We were in 418 on the 4th floor, our suite had a big queen size bed in the spacious livingroom along with a sofa, a desk, a chest of drawers and a big TV. The bed was super comfortable, I'm a bit fussy when it comes to beds and this one was brilliant. It's high up so easy to get in and out of and plenty of pillows. There was only blankets on the bed but if you get the temperature right in the room, you won't need more blankets. The view from the window was brilliant, to the left was Central Park and to the left was Time Square.
The bedroom had a queen sized bed in it, a desk and a built-in wardrobe but it was still spacious. It had a window but the view was the other side of the building so not the best view.
The bathroom was a good size with a shallow bath/shower, a toilet, sink, a huge mirror, a hairdryer and lots of bottles of toiletries. There was a little sign that said that the maid service would only take towels that were on the floor or in the bath, they would leave towels that were hanging up.
The little kitchen had 3 cupboards, a microwave and a sink. That was it, nothing else, no cutlery, plates, bowels, cups, glasses, anything like that. We'd found this out before we arrived so I had got myself a travel kettle off of Amazon as well as travel mugs and plastic cutlery so that we could make cups of tea.
There was also a nice big cupboard near the door where we could store our luggage bags and extra bits that we wouldn't need all the time.
The wifi is free, you need to log in with the lead travellers name and your room number and then you are set to go. You can have 5 devices her room registered on the wifi so if you have more than that, you need to make sure you choose wisely.
The staff were all great, the gentlemen on the bell desk were great to talk to for advice on where to go. They have lots of maps and information booklets that they can give you for free as well. One of the ladies on reception was kind enough to extend our check out time by an hour for me for free as well, I wasn't feeling well and we weren't getting picked up until 4pm so the extra time in the room was great. She did try to extend it to 4pm for me but the hotel was fully booked and they needed enough time for the maid service to get in the room to get it ready for the next people. The ladies that do the maid service are lovely as well, I had to have a day in bed because I was really ill and we couldn't find the "do not disturb" sign for the door, the lady came in but when I said she didn't need to do the room, she said she hoped I felt better soon and left.
I would most definetly stay here again, everything about it is perfect.
