A Night And Day Visit To The London Eye
I love going on the London Eye, it is one of my favourite things to do in London. I remember my parents taking me there for the first time when I was 16 years old and it was another 16 years before I went on it again, twice in a few months in fact.
This is definitely an attraction where you need to book online. If you don’t, you have to stand in a very long line, one person said she’d been in line for at least half an hour, and even then you may not get a time slot until later on that day. Then when your time slot comes up, you could be in another queue for over an hour like us just to get onto the London Eye. If you pre-book, you may still get the second long queue but at least you will have a time that you want. Plus, you can always book fast queue tickets so that your queue is a lot shorter.
If you are going on a Saturday, Sunday or when the kids are on holiday from school, you will have long queues. I have been on a weekday and a Saturday and I preferred it so much on the weekday as there was less queues and crowds.
As you are in the queue that is in base of the London Eye, you get to have a green screen picture done as a souvenir, you are given a ticket and you pick up the picture at the end.
When you get to the front of the line, you have to be quick to get on the pod when you are told to by the staff because the only time that the London Eye stops is for someone in a wheelchair.
The views when you are in the pod are amazing all the way round, I love how far you can see especially at the top. There’s never been more than about 20 people in a pod when I have been on it so there is plenty of room to move around plus there is a little bench in the middle if you need to sit down.
Towards the end of the ride, you can have your picture taken in the pod by a big special camera. There will be an announcement to tell you when it is time and then you stand on the designated stickers on the floor. You can get the picture along with your green screen picture. The pictures are a bit expensive but they are great pictures and a brilliant memento.
Make sure you book via the website as you can get deals if you are looking to go to more of their attractions.
